Parking Permit Options
Individuals needing to park on campus now have several permit options to choose from based on the frequency and length of time they will be on campus. Each permit type has different parking options and costs vary. Customers can buy by the hour, day, week, or month based on their individual needs.
Beginning July 1st we will also be selling a 10-pack permit which allows customers to have 10 one-day permits to use for when they will be coming to campus. You will be required to go online up to 3 days in advance and reserve a permit from a list of available lots. Available spaces for each day may change based on lot utilization. All 10-pack permits will expire on 6/30/2022. No refunds will be issued for unused days.
For those individuals that had blue or red permits prior to the campus closure, we will hold your lot assignment until January 7, 2022.
Additional information, including permits and pricing, can be obtained by calling our offices at 951-827-8277 (TAPS) Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
Program Service Changes
Starting summer quarter, June 21, 2021, we will be utilizing License Plate Recognition (LPR) to verify parking privileges. Physical hang tag permits will be phased out and customers will be issued a virtual parking permit in our parking systems that will be valid on any vehicle that you designate. In order to do so, the license plate of any vehicle you bring on campus must be linked to your current virtual permit. You can manage the vehicles linked to your permit by going online to your Parking Account. For detailed instructions on adding a vehicle to your permit, please visit our website at https://transportation.ucr.edu/add-vehicle-to-permit. Multiple vehicles may be linked to a permit but a permit is only valid for one vehicle on campus at a time.
Motorist Assistance Program continues to operate with modified service hours. Services such as a battery jump start, vehicle lockout, and emergency gas delivery are currently available Monday through Friday 6:00 AM - 10:00 PM. To request this service, call 951-827-8277 (TAPS) or 951-288-1143.
RTA UPASS Program - You can utilize RTA transit buses for free. Instead of swiping your R’Card on the bus, RTA has switched to a new, contactless fare system in which you use your mobile device to board. Free mobile bus passes are available to all students, faculty and staff. Get instructions on how to register for the free pass. RTA has also adjusted many routes and schedules and Route 51 (Campus Cruiser) is currently suspended until on-campus instruction resumes. Check out RTA's website for the most up to date information and schedules.
