As part of Transportation Services facility maintenance program, the department has secured a contract for asphalt maintenance on campus. This contract includes twenty-six unique roadway, parking lot and loading dock projects across the campus. This work will provide new driving surfaces on all campus roadways that have not been recently maintained. The included parking lots projects will include preventative maintenance in some lots and complete parking surface replacement in others. The scheduled timeframe for these projects is Monday August 27th through Friday September 14th. We understand these projects will create impacts for some department operations and possible commute delays. Transportation Services’ staff will make every attempt possible to reduce construction impacts and provide the most access possible during these projects while protecting the safety of construction workers and the public.

PARKING OPTIONS

Parking permit holders who are displaced by the closure of their assigned parking lot or roadway closures that prevent vehicle access to their assigned parking lot may park in any open nearby Red Permit, Blue Permit or Pay-By-Space parking lot during these closures. Permit holders should continue to display their parking permit for their assigned lots when parked in another area.

ACCESSIBLE PARKING ACCOMMODATIONS

Individuals who utilize accessible parking spaces located in parking lots that will be closed for maintenance or are inaccessible because of adjacent roadway closures can call Transportation and Parking Services, Mobility Service for assistance in reaching their on-campus destinations. During these maintenance impacts, services can be arranged by calling (951) 827-1295.

SERVICE AND DELIVERY ACCESS

Departments and contractors who have planned deliveries that will be impacted by any of these closures should contact Transportation Services’ Operations Coordinator, Yasser Jabbari to make arrangements for access through construction areas. yasser.jabbari@ucr.edu (951)827-3846.

RTA TRANSIT ROUTES

RTA busses will detour around closure areas. Riders are advised to use either the stop before or after the closure areas for their effected bus line.

PROJECT SCHEDULE and IMPACTS

8/27 - 8/29 - West Campus Dr. will be closed between University Ave. and Canyon Crest Dr. This will result in the closure of Parking Lots 1 and 4, Hinderaker Hall Loading Dock, Arts Loading Dock, and the Humanities Loading Dock.

8/28 - 8/30 – Citrus Dr., Parking Lots 7, 9 and 20 will be closed. Access to the Entomology / Genomics Loading Dock will be closed during this time.

8/29 - 8/31 – Linden St. will be closed. This closure will impact drivers trying to enter campus from Canyon Crest Dr. and Linden St. MRB1 Construction access will be diverted to Plum St. through Crest Housing.

8/30 - 9/4 - Lots 5, 8 and 10 will be closed.

8/30 - 9/1 – South Campus Dr. will be closed between Citrus Dr. and Eucalyptus Dr. Vehicle access to the Herbarium and Parking Lots 3, 8 and 9 will be closed.

8/31 - 9/4 – Lot 16 will be closed

8/31 - 9/6 - The center Blue Permit section of Parking Lot 6 will be closed.

9/4 - 9/6 – Lots 15 and 29 will be closed.

9/5 - 9/8 – Lot 24 will be closed.

9/10 - 9/11 – East Campus Dr. will be closed from Eucalyptus Dr. to Big Springs Rd. Vehicle access to the SOM Education and Webber/Boyce Loading Docks, Parking Lots 40 and 41 along with the glasshouses in this area will be restricted.

9/12 - 9/14 – North Campus Dr. and Botanic Gardens Rd. will be closed. Parking Lot 10 will be impacted by the Botanic Garden Rd. closure.
