AMTRAK

Amtrak is a nation-wide passenger rail service.  The Amtrak San Joaquins line connects Riverside to Northern California. From Riverside, take the Amtrak Thruway Bus Line 19 to Bakersfield and from there catch the train to places such as Fresno, Stockton, Oakland, and Sacramento.

Students qualify for a 15% discount on everyday travel.  Students that travel frequently can apply to become an Amtrak San Joaquins College Student Ambassador.  If selected, you would earn free tickets.

Faculty, Staff, and Graduate Students

Faculty, Staff and Graduate Students who make their daily commute to and from the UC Riverside campus using public transit are eligible to participate in the Public Transit Program.  Registered participants cannot hold a daytime commuter parking permit.

You must enroll in the R'Commute (Alternative Transportation Program) to receive incentives. Eligibility of incentives is subject to verification using University electronic records.

Complimentary Parking Privileges

Registered Public Transit participants are eligible to receive a complimentary Blue 10-pack parking permit each quarter.   Actual allotments provided are dependent on enrollment dates and are prorated. 10-pack permits roll-over each quarter, however they expire at the end of the fiscal year on June 30th.
