Campus Apartment (Bannockburn, Falkirk, Glen Mor, and University Plaza) parking permits (see map) and Residence Hall parking permits (see map) for the 2021/2022 school year will be available for purchase online beginning August 20, 2021. Incoming Freshman living on campus must submit an exemption request to be considered for a parking permit (the Freshman Exemption Application is available on your Housing Dashboard). Campus Apartment / Residence Hall parking permits are available on a first come, first served basis - quantities are limited.
Oban residents that need a parking permit should call Parking Services at (951) 827-8277.
UCR now uses License Plate Recognition (LPR) to verify parking privileges. No physical parking permit will be issued. The license plate of any vehicle you bring on campus must be linked to your current virtual permit. You can manage the vehicles linked to your permit by going online to your Parking Account. For detailed instructions on adding a vehicle to your permit, please visit our website at https://transportation.ucr.edu/add-vehicle-to-permit. Multiple vehicles may be linked to a permit but a permit is only valid for one vehicle on campus at a time per day.
We would also like to make you aware of the alternative transportation options that are available in case you don’t plan to purchase a parking permit:
UCR students can take unlimited rides on any RTA fixed bus route free. There are several routes that take you directly to campus. Register for your free mobile transit permit and simply use your phone when boarding any RTA fixed-route and you’ll ride for free.
Zipcar rentals offer low hourly and daily rates that include gas and insurance. Cars are located on campus and can be reserved online or by using your mobile device. Go to bitly.com/UCRzipcar to enroll.
UCR has 3,000+ bike rack spaces on campus to park your bike including locked bike cages. Free bike registration and licensing is available at Transportation Services.
