Amtrak is a nation-wide passenger rail service. The Amtrak San Joaquins line connects Riverside to Northern California. From Riverside, take the Amtrak Thruway Bus Line 19 to Bakersfield and from there catch the train to places such as Fresno, Stockton, Oakland, and Sacramento.
Amtrak offers students between the ages of 17-24 the chance to save 15% on purchases made at least one day in advance with their national student discount rate.
