Retiree & Emeriti Parking Permit Information

Faculty and staff members who have officially retired from the university but continue to contribute their time and expertise on a voluntary, uncompensated basis may be eligible for special parking privileges through Parking Services. These retirees are offered the following options:

  • Expanded Retiree Permit for Association Members: Retirees who are lifetime members or current annual dues-paying members of either the UCR Retirees Association (UCRRA) or the UCR Emeriti Association (UCREA) are eligible for a complimentary expanded parking permit. This permit allows for parking in select Blue and Red lots in addition to the Gold lots on campus.

  • Complimentary Gold Lot Parking Permit: Retired individuals may receive a complimentary parking permit that allows them to park in any designated Gold parking lot on campus. This permit is provided at no cost and offers convenient access to central campus areas, subject to space availability.

  • Discounted Red & Blue Lot Parking Permit: Retirees who prefer not to obtain a complimentary Gold lot permit, or who find that Red and Blue lots are more convenient to their campus destinations, may instead choose to purchase a discounted Red or Blue lot parking permit at half price. These permits are available subject to space availability and provide retirees with the flexibility to park closer to specific buildings or areas of campus that may better suit their needs.

Please note the following conditions:

  • Non-Transferable: Retiree permits are issued exclusively to the individual retiree and may not be shared, transferred, or used by any other person, including family members or former colleagues.

  • Retiree-Only Eligibility: These permits are reserved solely for individuals who have officially retired from university employment. If you have a paid recall appointment, you are not eligible for any of permits listed above. Continued eligibility may be subject to verification.

  • Any misuse of the retiree parking permit, including the conditions listed above, will result in immediate revocation of the permit.

Retirees interested in obtaining a parking permit should contact Parking Services directly to confirm availability and provide any required documentation. Permits must be renewed on an annual basis every June by contacting Parking Services.
