Metrolink riders should take notice of the schedule changes which take effect Monday, October 21, 2024. While Metrolink’s new schedule offers increased frequency during their weekday service, there have been some changes that impacts those commuting to UCR.
The early 91/PVL train departing LA through Fullerton to UCR has been discontinued so there are no longer any trains getting into Riverside before 9:00am. However, the IE/OC line from Orange County to Riverside now has an earlier train arriving to Riverside before 8:00am. If you currently commute by train, be sure to view the updated timetables. Metrolink is seeking feedback on their schedule changes by taking a survey.
All students continue to receive the free Student Adventure Pass which is valid through June 2025. To get your pass, simply download the Metrolink mobile app and register for an account using your active student Net ID email (e.g, scottyb@ucr.edu).
Employees that live in the Inland Empire can also take advantage of IE Commuter’s Metrolink Pass Promotion offering a free 90-day Metrolink pass. This program is paid through county funding which is the reason it is only available to Inland Empire residents.
