Looking for easy (and actually fun) ways to get around without a car? UCR Transportation Services (TAPS) is bringing back their Travel Training Events this winter quarter - and yes, they’re way more exciting than they sound.
These trips are all about showing UCR students just how simple public transportation can be, whether you’re commuting to campus or heading out for a day of fun. No stress, no confusion. Just hop on board and go.
Last fall, TAPS staff took groups of students on RTA buses and Metrolink trains to places like San Clemente Beach, The Cheech Museum, Downtown Riverside’s Festival of Lights, local shopping centers and farmers markets, and even a full day exploring Los Angeles. Along the way, students learned the basics such as where to catch the bus, how to read route signs, and how to swipe their R’Card onboard. For longer trips, they also covered how to get to the Metrolink station and use the Metrolink app to buy tickets.
Good news: more trips are coming this winter quarter! Follow @ucrtaps on Instagram to stay in the loop and catch all the details.
Hop on, explore, and let someone else do the driving.
