Breadcrumb

UCR students, faculty, and staff can now register their bikes and scooters at no cost through Transportation Services (TAPS). Registered vehicles are entered into our internal registry, which can help identify and recover your property if it’s ever lost, stolen, recovered, or impounded.

Scooter Registration

  • Complete the online registration form.
  • Only UL Certified scooters—those tested and approved by UL Solutions or a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory—are allowed inside campus residences to ensure they meet established safety standards and prevent combustion fires.
  • After registering online, resident students must bring their scooter to TAPS for UL certification verification. Once approved, you’ll receive a registration sticker allowing the scooter to be brought into campus housing.
  • Scooters that don’t meet UL standards, or will not be kept in campus housing, may still be registered but will not receive a housing-approved sticker.

Bike Registration

  • Complete the online registration form.
  • Once registered, you’ll receive a confirmation email with instructions on when and where to pick up your DMV bike license and registration stickers from TAPS.
